The AROC National Convention Autocross sponsored by Centerline to be held in downtown Lexington near Rupp Arena

Plan on a fun filled day of driving excitement as you put your Alfa through the paces.  Enjoy the experience of autocrossing your Alfa on a well designed and safe course.  Feel the limits of your Alfa, climb the leader board, and enjoy the thrill of competitive motorsports at its basic level.

The autocross will be conducted by Central KY Region, Sports Car Club of America. With several Solo National Champions as members, their event execution expertise will provide a first class event. All competitors at SCCA Solo events must be members, so autocross entrants will be provided a "SCCA Weekend Membership" at no additional cost.

The downtown Lexington Civic Center parking lot that will serve as our autocross site is just 1 ¾ miles from the convention hotel, and is within easy walking distance of restaurants, walking tours and shopping. The asphalt parking lot has room for a course with space to maneuver larger cars like 164's and will not have tight arm-wrenching corners. The course route will have a wide white line on both edges and will be easy to follow with no confusing turns. To facilitate the activities on Friday morning, all registration and safety inspection must be completed at the Tuesday or Thursday evening tech inspection sessions.

Competitors will have 5 or 6 timed runs, with time reserved for those who run the TSD rally before arriving to compete in the autocross.  A new feature offers low key "recreational runs" for those who have never run an autocross. At a nominal fee, people can enter and sample an autocross under no pressure; driving through at whatever speed they desire and, if desired, with the timer turned off.

The event will have cars parked in assigned grid spots, and directed to the start line 1 or 2 at a time; eliminating having to creep forward in a long line. As a variation of the traditional AROC scheme where one can get right back in line after a run, anyone doing this will be alternated with cars feeding from the grid. Alternately, anyone wanting to spread out their runs will not have to run in the regular grid selection sequence.

AROC Autocross rules offer a class for all Alfas and, of course, we will have a class for the NA’s (Non-Alfas). The only requirements are a driver’s license, and a car inspection. A few loaner helmets will be available, and we will have an air compressor available.

Alfas in the Bluegrass offers you the opportunity to experience the performance heritage of your Alfa in a controlled and safe environment.  Autocrossing is the fundamental first step in learning how to control and setup your Alfa for performance driving.  After you have joined us for this best in class event, you'll never take a corner the same way again!
