Alfas in the Bluegrass is pleased to announce
Sports Car Market's Keith Martin as the banquet keynote speaker.
Always held on Saturday evening, the social highlight of the
convention is the Banquet. Plan on a 6:30 PM arrival poolside
for cocktails. Then
relax and enjoy Alfa friends and a delicious Italian dinner that
celebrates the club and the year as a whole.
As we enjoy the meal, eyes will be focused on the
stage where individual and collective club members will be
recognized. We will hear
stories and anecdotes from different conventions as fellow members
take the stage. The new
AROC Board of Directors and officers will be introduced and the
club’s legal counsel will make the gathering our official national
meeting. Door prizes
will be handed out throughout the evening, and by the time we are
savoring dessert and coffee, we will have the final treat: the
address by the keynote speaker.
Whether you are about speed at Putnam, zipping through the cones at the autocross, putting on that last coat of wax for the concours, beautiful art or jewelry, or finding that last clue in the rally, join us to recognize your efforts. In addition to handing out the awards, Alfas in the Bluegrass will serve up a traditional Kentucky brunch to take care of those appetites in preparation for the trip home.

Keynote Speaker Keith Martin
Alfas in the Bluegrass is honored to announce Keith Martin, founder and publisher of the prestigious Sports Car Market magazine, as our keynote speaker. Over the past two decades Keith and SCM have made a serious impact in the collector car circles by closely following the market value of classic vehicles in the USA and abroad. Their coverage of auctions, results, and sale prices in general is exhaustive and their commentaries on investment values and trends in the collector market are considered authoritative to say the least. The website for Sports Car Market contains the world’s largest and most informative database of collectible cars, with more than 40,000 cars listed with serial numbers, photos, and descriptive and valuation details. It includes a graphical display of value trends over time for any marque in the database, a unique tool for collectors.
It is not unusual in the car world to uncover Alfa roots under great elements of substance, and this case is no exception. In 1988 Keith started his now famous publication as the Alfa Romeo Market Letter. Yes, Keith is an alfista, and what is today the magazine actually started out as a four page mimeographed write-up, which was fully dedicated to our marque!
Heavily involved with the collector car hobby for more than thirty years Keith’s writing credentials are extensive. He is the author of a collecting series of books, which include specific works on Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Jaguar, Porsche, English sports cars, as well as a recent 300-page one stop reference on general collecting. He has been a columnist for Autoweek and Automobile magazines, as well as contributor to feature articles in the New York Times. As a nationally recognized commentator his television appearances include numerous specials. His most recent advent was as on-set host for Discovery HD’s “Appraise my Car”.
As an experienced master of
ceremonies and judge, Keith has also been involved with some of the
most prestigious national concours events, such as
For what is surely to be a much anticipated speech at the evening banquet, in addition to his expertise in market valuation, Keith will draw his thoughts from 40 years of living with Alfa Romeos, lessons learned from good and bad Alfa buys, and experiences on which Alfas have the highest fun factor.
Please join us in welcoming Keith Martin as our keynote speaker!
